BLOG, BLOG, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH !

Yesterday was election day (Thank God that’s finally over!) and Barack Obama was elected the first Black President. No matter where you stand on this election it was such an amazing moment in time to see a nation move forward in so many ways.....that said.....my alter ego, “Utopia Boy” made an appearance in my psyche last night and here I am blogging again so here goes.....

After the election last night we showed the world that we, as a Democratic nation have taken a step forward past racism and our tarnished past. As a country we have jumped many hurdles but I believe at this point in time we really need to step up and show the world that a free democratic society can work and grow in the eventual best interest of the entire planet.

Let’s face it, we are policing the world and trying to promote our way of life to everyone else and are we perfect? Of course not! However the current Wall Street debacle and Mortgage crisis has not only effected the entire planet but it has shown a big chink in our armor and that chink is corporate greed amongst the “good old boy” network. We have such an enormous responsibility to show that we are better than that and after the election “Utopia Boy” saw a ray of light in the clouds that have surrounded this nation.

I truly hope that Barack Obama can make a huge difference for good while he is in office. He sure has a mountain of crap that was left by his predecessor to wade through and I wouldn’t wish the job on my worst enemy but I really hope that this is the start of our nation becoming great once again.

Looking for God in song. I know what you're thinking, and no new concept here.  Human beings have been singing drumming and chanting to God for millennia. it is interesting that every culture on the planet believes in some sort of supreme of being.  Whether it be Jesus, Buddha, Allah, Vishnu or nature itself like the sun god or the wind God or in the case of the aborigines, dreamtime.  It is embedded in the very core of human consciousness that we feel the need to reach out to a supreme being.  I find it very compelling that this very fundamental truth seems to lie a in every human being and is as important and universal as our need to eat and drink.              Greed, lust, love, anger, jealousy, loyalty, hate, happiness.......... we all got it inside of us as well as billions of other emotions that reside in everyone on this planet. Due to our environment we develop into angry people, kind people, generous people, violent people, talented people, and the list goes on and on and on.  Regardless of how our personality develops, there still seems to be a need for people to seek a higher truth. I don't wanna go into of the how and why of human psychology so I won't. The question I ask myself and I now ask you is this..... why can't we all get along if it appears that what we all seek is basically the same thing?

OK let’s put aside, “The Davinci Code”, the newly discovered “Gospel Of Judas”, the ”Gnostic Gospels” and the fact that Bishop Irenaeus pretty much single-handedly decided what the gospels in the New Testament were to be and all the other man made agendas that seem to drive every religion. Whew............now, whether you believe in Jesus, Buddah, Allah etc. let’s just call it the CREATOR for the purpose of this thought OK.

If you are a parent and have kids, what would make you the most proud? Your child becoming a Doctor, Fireman, Priest? How about if your child or children simply became a good, caring, loving human being who went out of his or her way to help those in need and instead of being greedy, angry, jealous, petty and quick to judge others and stand on principals without seeing the other side of a disagreement but would instead reflect and try to find a fair balance to any argument. Wouldn’t that be wonderful? What if our CREATOR wanted us to do that as his children? Wouldn’t that make our CREATOR so proud of us, his children, if we could all live in peace and harmony and reach our fullest potential as one planet? I think so. What do you think?

To be continued...............................

OK I have had enough of stupid crap that wastes my time and tax dollars...........so.......rather than dedicate the rest of my days to pointing out all the stupid crap that is going on I have picked this one for now.

I love America and I am proud beyond words of all we have accomplished as a nation and through all the good and bad I still believe that we have the best thing going in the whole world. That said, let’s talk about the Pledge Of Allegiance.

There are those out there that want to waste time, money and energy taking the word GOD out of this credo as they believe it to be offensive and want to separate Church and State etc. etc. Well, I think there should be separation of Church and State....however, my opinion is that in the Pledge we are saying that we are true to our COUNTRY and GOD. Now, let’s say you are an atheist and that is your belief or AXIOM. What is wrong with the word GOD being interpreted as your AXIOM or belief in Atheism or Islam or whatever? Does everything always have to be an assault on Christianity? This Country was founded on that after all.......right? But this Country was also founded on an individuals right to freedom of religion which is what makes this such an awesome place to live! Try having freedom of belief in the Middle East!

I realize this is totally a matter of perspective but geez, cut me and all of us some slack here! All I ask is that you just think about this for 2 seconds. OK let me get to my last point here. I think it is a good thing to reaffirm our patriotism on a daily basis....especially for our kids. So with this in mind check it out......

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

Now check this out.....

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under (insert your belief system or axiom here) indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

Get it????? GOD can simply mean what your definition is!! Isn’t this a beautiful credo of affirmation that strengthens our resolve to our country and belief system (which this country allows the freedom to believe in) Isn’t this good for our kids in school? Assuming that everyone as parents steps up to bat and actually takes a moment to talk to our kids, do a little parenting and show our kids a little different perspective instead of trying to always protect them from things that aren’t hurting them in the first place! Spend more time and energy focusing on the evil out there that will really hurt our kids and stop wasting everybody’s time and tax dollars!

Now for some humor. I think that if we continue down this current road of political correctness and no responsibility, our new Pledge Of Allegiance will read like this.....

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the corporation of America and to the almighty dollar for which it stands, one nation, under lawyers, politically correct with McDonalds and no responsibility for all.

Think about that for a minute, even thirty seconds. If you still think taking the word GOD out of the pledge is any kind of priority as opposed to some of the other issues we are facing then we are truly lost and in deep trouble as a nation.
